SBI: Church secretary stole from ministry

A church secretary in Harnett County is accused of embezzling more than $61,000 from the ministry, authorities said.

The State Bureau of Investigation last week charged Vicky Lee Price, 50, of Angier, with three counts of embezzlement. Authorities said he took $61,088 from Solid Rock Ministries Church in Angier, where she served as church secretary.

Price is also charged in connection with the embezzlement of $5,817 from Coats Properties, where she worked as a part-time secretary, according to the SBI.

The bureau’s Financial Crimes units is continuing to investigate thefts of church funds at the Erwin Church of God and Hodges Chapel, which are both in Harnett County.
