Road closed due to water main break in Knightdale

A road is closed in Knightdale as crews worked overnight to fix a water main break.

The 900 block of Laurens Way, between Clay Hill Dr and Stones Landing, is closed. Closure is expected to last through 1:00 p.m.

Construction equipment could be seen working on Laurens Way, cleaning up mud left behind from the break.

Workers have shut off the water in that area, and are now working to find out exactly where the break is, so they can fix it.

The following is a detour around the work site:

• Motorists traveling westbound on Laurens Way, turn left on Stony Hill Dr., then right on Lynnwood Rd.
• Motorists on Lynwood Road should proceed to Stony Hill Dr. and turn left instead of using Laurens Way.
• Motorists approaching this work area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.
• Motorists should be aware of all posted traffic signs, closures, traffic cones, and work crews.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of services. If interruption of services occurs, impacted customers will be notified by Raleigh Water staff via phone call, property visit or doorhanger.
