Reporter welcomes baby on New Year's Eve

WRAL reporter Bryan Mims and his wife, Alison, welcomed a baby boy at 1:11 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Asher Nathaniel Mims weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces, according to the proud dad.

Bryan told me the other day that his wife was due on Jan. 4, but that the baby could be born "any day now!" He wasn't joking :)
