A quick reminder, as I've written before, tickets for Pullen Park's popular Holiday Express will go on sale next week.

The event, which will run for 10 days this year, is set for 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Dec. 7 to Dec. 10 and Dec. 12 to Dec. 17 at the Raleigh park. It will feature lots of holiday lights, visits with Santa, crafts and rides on the park's kiddie train and carousel. Last year, the event sold out within hours.

Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m., Tuesday, July 25. They are $10 plus $1.29 service fee per person. All guests ages 2 and up must have a ticket.

This year, the city is doing a couple of things differently:

  • The city has expanded the days of the event to 10 - two more than originally scheduled last year. Last October, the city added a ninth day because the event had sold out so quickly.
  • Tickets are only available through the special Holiday Express Eventbrite page this year - not through the city's RecLink system. There also will be no walk-in or phone ticket sales.

As usual, ticket buyers will purchase a ticket based on their train departure time (though you can enter the event at any time, regardless of that departure time, on the day your ticket is good for).

The Holiday Express, which marks its tenth anniversary this year, is presented by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources and the Crabtree Rotary Club. A portion of the proceeds supports Rotary charities.
