Remains found believed to be missing North Carolina man who disappeared in 2019; 1 man arrested in homicide case

Police arrested a man believed to be in connection to the murder of a man who disappeared in 2019.

Winston-Salem police said they believe they discovered the remains of Aaron Wood, who was working in construction while on the property. Police said they believe Wood was also killed on the property before his body was buried.

Officers said they arrested Kenneth Evan Cox Friday around 1:15 p.m. at his home in Tobaccoville. His first court appearance will be on June 12.

Officers started digging for the remains earlier in the week on Monday at the property. It took several days before they released details about the investigation.
