Regal reopening theaters in Raleigh, Cary, Apex and Garner in May

Some of the most popular theaters in the area, including Regal Crossroads in Cary and Regal White Oak in Garner, will reopen May 7, according to Regal.

Some of the most-visited movie theaters in the area, including Regal theaters in Cary, Garner and Raleigh, will reopen May 7, according to Regal.

While some Triangle movie theaters reopened months ago, others, including those operated by Regal, remain closed.

The first Regal theater to reopen in North Carolina will be the Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen in Charlotte on April 23. On May 7, Regal Crossroads in Cary and Regal White Oak in Garner will reopen along with:

  • Asheville - Regal Biltmore Grande & RPX
  • Charlotte - Regal Birkdale & RPX
  • Charlotte - Regal Starlight - Charlotte
  • Greensboro - Regal Greensboro Grande & RPX
  • High Point - Regal Palladium & IMAX
  • Raleigh-Durham - Regal North Hills
  • Raleigh-Durham - Regal Brier Creek
  • Wilmington - Regal Mayfaire & IMAX

On May 14, Regal Beaver Creek in Apex and several other Regal locations in Charlotte will reopen. You can view the entire list on Regal's website.

Regal is considered the world's second-largest movie theater business after AMC. The U.S. closures in 2020 affected 536 theaters in the United States and 45,000 employees.

Cinemark Raleigh Grande, local AMC locations at Park Place (Morrisville) and in Durham at Southpoint and Martin Luther King Parkway, and Marquee Cinemas at Wakefield Commons reopened in October and are showing limited movies now.
