Raleigh police investigating two shootings, wreck that happened early Saturday

A 22-year-old woman died Saturday from injuries she sustained in an early-morning shooting outside Mambo Sports Bar on New Hope Church Road, Raleigh police said.

Raleigh police were investigating two shootings incidents Saturday morning that happened on New Hope Church Road and Capital Boulevard.

Officers were called to the Mambo 69 sports bar, at 2221 New Hope Church Road, at about 4:30 a.m. Two people at the bar had been shot. Information about the severity of their injuries has not been released.

About 15 minutes later, officers were called to Capital Boulevard at Interstate 440 in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found a black vehicle that had struck a pole. A man inside was suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was taken to WakeMed. His name has not been released.

Capital Boulevard was shut down near I-440 after the incident.

Authorities said the incidents do not appear to be related.
