Raleigh police charge man, 29, with murder

Raleigh police have charged Michael Alexander Jones, 29, with murder in the shooting death of George Devon White, 23.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday at 6900 Glendower Road, police said. Officers found Jones in the 4800 block of Grove Barton Road and placed him in the Wake County Jail.

Emergency crews took White to WakeMed, where he died.

"The shooting incident, which occurred at the home of the suspect, was not a random act," police spokesman Jim Sughrue wrote in a news release.
