Pullen Park has definitely been missed in my house this summer. My older daughter would love a ride on the carousel and train. And I've missed seeing my one-year-old enjoy her first moments there.

But I've watched the work and seen the progress and am very excited about the new and improved park, which is set to open in late November. I also was excited to see in the park system's catalog that the popular Holiday Express event, with the lighted train ride, Santa visits and holiday displays, is scheduled for Dec. 8 to Dec. 11 this year. Yay!

Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department is collecting photos and memories of Pullen. City officials say they want to honor the history of the place as they prepare for the opening of the new space. Stories and photos shared with the city could be used for park promotion.

If you want to share, email your photos and memories to Parks.Pictures@raleighnc.gov. For more on the renovations, click here.
