Raleigh man dies in I-540 wreck

A Raleigh man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 540 East, near Knightdale Boulevard, shortly before 5 a.m. Monday, police said.

Police said that Demetrius Raheim Crudup, 29, lost control of his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it rolled over several times, ejecting him. He was taken to WakeMed, where he died.

What caused Crudup to lose control of his vehicle hasn't been determined.

I-540 East was closed for several hours after the wreck.
