A Raleigh man died Sunday after he drowned at a Myrtle Beach area resort, according to reports.

Shawn Hamlet, 52, was rushed for medical care to South Strand Hospital around 12:30 p.m. after he was pulled from the pool at the resort, located at 5905 S. Kings Highway, WMBF-TV reported.

Hamlet died at the hospital, according to reports.

It was not immediately clear if Hamlet was alone in the pool when the incident happened or who found the man.

According to the TV station, an autopsy was scheduled to be performed Monday.
