Three weeks after being stolen from a Pawfect Match fundraiser, a puppy was located safe in Johnston County.

The blue-and-white pit bull puppy, named Miss Percy, was stolen from a fundraiser at Niche Wine Bar on Dec. 12. Surveillance video showed a man and woman walked into the event, picked up the puppy and then left in a white Honda Accord.

Pawfect Match volunteer Deborah Sandlin told WRAL News in December that the woman had asked about adopting the puppy while the fundraiser was going on.

On Wednesday, Holly Springs police said Miss Percy was reunited with Pawfect Match volunteers after being found at a home in Johnston County.

"I just started crying because I could not believe she was there. I thought I was going to the police department to look at some pictures to see if we could identify a suspect. I didn't know I was going to get Miss Percy," said Sandlin.

Kennsie Higgins, 20, and Brandon Almond, 19, were charged with larceny of a dog.
