Jadyn Davis, one of the top quarterbacks in the nation from the Class of 2024, will be playing college football in the Big Ten Conference.

During a press conference at Providence Day School on Friday afternoon, which was carried live by ESPN on SportsCenter, Davis announced his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines.

As a junior last fall, Davis led Providence Day to a N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I state championship. In the championship game, Davis threw for six touchdowns as the Chargers defeated Charlotte Christian 55-13. The win avenged the only loss of the season for Providence Day.

For the season, Davis completed 221-of-305 passes for 3,425 yards and 43 touchdowns. He was named the Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year, is a member of the HighSchoolOT All-State Team, and is a finalist for the HighSchoolOT Honors Offensive Player of the Year.

"Everything he does is smooth. They way he carries himself, the way he operates in situations that seem somewhat chaotic. He just always looks like he's calm, collected," former Duke quarterback Anthony Boone said during a breakdown of Davis' game film on HighSchoolOT.

Boone is also Davis' quarterback trainer in the Charlotte area.

"He has the ability to move. He's one of those guys that's always looking to distribute the rock, so I think that's one thing that's great about him," Boone said. "He has the ability to be two moves ahead in the pocket, as far as being elusive, but remain with his eyes down the field and still be on time in seeing windows, and I think that's a hard thing to do."

Davis, a unanimous five-star prospect by the major recruiting websites, stands at 6-foot-1 and 202 pounds. He is ranked the No. 1 player in North Carolina and the No. 2 quarterback in the nation by 247Sports.com.

Prior to announcing his commitment, Davis said he had narrowed his list of potential schools to five. In addition to Michigan, Davis was still considering offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, and Tennessee.

"Jadyn would have fit the mold for any school he chose, but his future at Michigan looks bright," HSOT football analyst T.J. Thorpe said. "He can make all the throws and has the ability to dissect a defense from the gun or under center. That, I believe, will translate well to the diverse play calling of the Wolverines."

Davis is the 10th overall commitment and the first five-star player to commit to Michigan from the Class of 2024. He is not the only offensive weapon in the Wolverines' class though. Four-star running back Jordan Marshall of Archbishop Moeller (OH) and four-star tight end Hogan Hansen of Bellevue (WA) have also committed to Michigan.

"Quarterbacks committing early, it allows you to build a class around you," Davis said, noting that he wants to help build the Class of 2024 at other positions too.
