A private club in Pinehurst sustained extensive damage in a fire Thursday evening, according to the Aberdeen Times.

A private club in Pinehurst sustained extensive damage in a fire Thursday evening, according to the Aberdeen Times.

The Tater Barn, located on McIntyre Road, caught fire just before 8 p.m., but the flames were controlled within 30 minutes.

McIntyre Road and McCaskill Road were completely blocked off to traffic in the area while firefighters and officials worked to extinguish the flames.

According to the Aberdeen Times, the building suffered substantial damage from the flames, smoke and water.

Emergency unites from Pinehurst Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Eastwood Fire Department, West End Fire & Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Fire Marshall’s Office and the Pinehurst Police Department all responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
