Power restored to thousands in Hoke County

A transmission line problem left about 4,200 Progress Energy customers in Hoke County without power Tuesday morning.

The Raleigh-based utility restored power to the area after about an hour.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the outage.

Raeford police reported no serious problems because of the outage, other than traffic lights being out of service.
