Trick-or-treat the Trails, which usually takes over White Deer Park in Garner, will move indoors tonight because of the threat of bad weather.

The event now will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., tonight, Oct. 31, at two locations — Avery Street Recreation Center (125 Avery St.) and Garner Performing Arts Center (742 W. Garner Road). Parking will be available in lots both at Avery Street Rec Center and GPAC.

The region is under a level 3 risk for severe weather on Halloween night with dangerous conditions expected to move into the Triangle by 8 or 9 p.m. "The timeline for severe weather is going to be critical for folks headed out to trick-or-treat," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner, according to a WRAL-TV report.

Spotty showers across the region Thursday afternoon could give way to gusty winds and isolated tornadoes in the late evening.
