Henry Winkler & Lin Oliver Co-authors of 'Fake Snakes and Weird Wizards' the fourth book in the "Here's Hank' series visited the Quail Ridge Bookstore Thursday evening February 12, 2015.

Judy Schachner of Skippyjon Jones fame and Ingrid Law, well known for her middle grade books, will make stops at Quail Ridge Books & Music in Raleigh this week.

Schachner will visit at 6 p.m., Tuesday. She's launching her new book, "Dewey Bob," an "endearing tale of unexpected friendship," according to the description. This one is best for ages 3 and up. According to Quail Ridge, she runs a really fun reading. To get in the signing line, you'll need to buy a copy of Dewey Bob from Quail Ridge. She'll sign the current book, along with past ones. It's best for ages 3 and up.

Law will visit at 7 p.m., Friday, with her new book "Switch," which is best for ages 9 and up. Law's book "Savvy" won the Newbery Honor. My fifth grader has loved this series, which also includes "Scumble." Here's a description of the latest book from Quail Ridge's staff: "For generations, the Beaumonts have harbored a magical secret. They each possess a "savvy" — a special supernatural power that strikes when they turn thirteen. In this second companion to Savvy, little sister Gypsy has reached the magical age. But the family’s unusual abilities are turning inside out. Steep learning curves and near catastrophe ensue." "Scumble" is currently on the Middle School Battle of the Books list.

Quail Ridge Books is on Wade Avenue in Raleigh.
