Police seeking suspect after second Chapel Hill credit union robbed in a week

Chapel Hill police are looking for a suspect after officials said a man robbed a second credit union in the area in less than four days.

The Chapel Hill Police Department, in a press release, said they are looking for Alvin Lennon, 61, of Durham. He has warrants out in the robbery of the State Employee's Credit Union on Elliott Road. Officials said he robbed the place just after 4 p.m. on Friday.

Lennon is also wanted in the robbery of the State Employee's Credit Union on PIttsboro Street on July 2, officials said.

In Friday's robbery, police said the suspect entered and demanded money. He then left the bank on foot in the direction of Whole Foods. No weapon was displayed, and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Officials said he is around 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds. He reportedly fled on foot, wearing a light-colored polo shirt and a light-colored baseball cap. They believe he could have changed his clothes after the crime and he may have boarded a transit bus in the area of Elliott Road and East Franklin Street.
