Garner police are searching for a man who entered a Wells Fargo branch at 1301 Fifth Ave. on Jan. 19, 2012, handed a note demanding money to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police on Friday asked for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Garner bank on Thursday.

A man entered a Wells Fargo branch at 1301 Fifth Ave. at about 2:40 p.m., handed a note demanding money to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The man was wearing jeans, a brown or green jacket, a light blue baseball cap, dark sunglasses and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Garner Police Department at 919-772-8810.
