Raleigh police were requesting the public's help in identifying a man whom they believe committed an armed robbery at a bank on Tuesday.

An armed man robbed the Wachovia bank at 8901 Six Forks Road shortly after 11 a.m., police said.

Witnesses reported that the robber left the bank in a light-colored, four-door sedan with after-market rims. The sedan was "boxy," possibly a '90s model Cadillac, witnesses said.

Police described the suspect as a black man with medium complexion and stocky build, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. He was wearing dark-colored pants, a dark parka-style coat with fur-like trim around the hood, a white cap and yellow or orange gloves.

Anyone with information that might assist the investigation was asked to call the Raleigh Police Department’s Detective Division at 919-890-3555.
