Police said Wednesday that they are investigating a shooting death – the third since Sunday – in Sanford.

Few details were released, but authorities said Thomas Shaquille Rader, 20, of Sanford, was found shortly before 5 a.m. at a home at 210 Harrington St. and was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where he later died.

Authorities said they haven't ruled out the possibility of the case being an accidental shooting but that the case remains under investigation.

Early Monday, police were called to 1305 Goldsboro Ave., where they found Stacey Lamont Morrison shot at least once.

Morrison, 31, of Sanford, was taken to Central Carolina Hospital, where he died.

Shortly before midnight Sunday, officers were called to 2820 Eames Drive in reference to another shooting and found that someone had fired shots into an apartment.

Travis Richardson, 30, of Sanford, was struck by the gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
