Police: Missing Raleigh preteen twins found
Authorities said Tuesday that 11-year-old twin girls from Raleigh who were reported missing Tuesday morning were found safe a few hours later.
Police were called to the North Hills at Town Center apartments, off of East Millbrook Road, around 7:30 a.m. on a possible kidnapping report.
The girls were missing for about three hours before police confirmed they had been found. Police said later in a written statement that a kidnapping did not occur, but investigators did not elaborate on the circumstances of the twins' disappearance.
Sources close to the investigation said that police were questioning relatives, but no charges are expected to be filed.
According to initial reports, the girls were said to be 10 years old, but a source close to the investigation said they are a year older.
