Police investigating series of drive-by shootings around Scotland Neck

Officials in Scotland Neck said they are investigating a series of drive-by shootings in and around Scotland Neck, two of them unfolding Saturday night.

They all happened in Halifax County.

One was reported around 11:00 p.m. Saturday on Bynums Bridge Road and the other less than an hour later at 8th and Chestnut Street.

Police said that's the same area where a drive-by shooting happened Thursday morning, when homes and vehicles were damaged by gunfire.

The chief said the shootings are connected to some kind of dispute and assault style rifles are being used.

No one was hurt in any of these shootings.
