Police investigate Raleigh death

Raleigh police were investigating Tuesday after a man was found dead on South Wilmington Street.

Officers were dispatched to a drowning call off the 1400 block of South Wilmington Street at about 5:40 p.m. and located a deceased man.

Police on Wednesday identified the man as Andrew Jackson Cherry Jr., 63.

They said there was no indication that foul play was involved in his death.
