Police identify man found dead inside Fayetteville business

Fayetteville police are investigating after a welfare check led to the discovery of a deceased man Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said officers responded to a business at about 2:35 p.m. and learned that a man, identified as Joseph Carl Wallace, 72, or the 4000 block of Charger Court. had been found dead inside Quality Automotive at 1110 Pamalee Drive by a friend who called 911.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating and said the cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.
