Police have suspect in Roxboro girl's shooting

Roxboro police have a "central suspect" in the shooting of a 14-year-old girl Monday evening at a ball field owned by Person County.

Lt. Todd Boycher said Ashley Ogeary was shot at Longhurst Ball Park, 425 Long Ave.

She was taken by ambulance to Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro and then airlifted to Duke University Hospital in Durham. Boycher said her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Boycher said while no arrest had been made Tuesday, police were talking to the district attorney about charges against more than one person.
