Police: Body found in trunk of car prompts homicide investigation in Durham

The Durham Police Department was investigating a homicide Tuesday night after a body was found in a vehicle.

Durham police said just after 7:50 p.m. an adult man was found dead in the trunk of a car on Glen Falls Lane. The man was identified as Jivon Cherry, 39, of Durham.

The vehicle was believed to be parked at the Falls Pointe at the Park Apartments.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Police have provided no further information regarding the circumstances of the vehicle or how the body was found.
