Who's ready to take the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics?
The Polar Plunge is Saturday at Lake Raleigh on North Carolina State University's Centennial campus.
Hundreds are expected to take the Polar Plunge into Lake Raleigh on North Carolina State University's Centennial campus on Saturday afternoon.
A minimum donation of $50 is required to take the leap. And you are encouraged to come in costume. You can register online or on-site an hour before the event.
The plunge, which is organized by the NC State University Police, also coincides with the Special Olympics Torch Run 5K which is earlier that day at Lake Raleigh.
The plunge happens at 2 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for:
- Youngest Plunger
- Oldest Plunger
- Plunger with the Best Individual Costume
- Plungers with the Best Team costume
- The largest fundraising group - both Students and Non-students
- The top individual fundraiser
