Playground Review: Rockwood Park

The Durham park features a shady playground and a short paved loop around the park that's great for bikes and scooters.

Playground Review: Rockwood Park

Last week, I featured Morrisville Community Park and pointed out that there's no shade at its playground. A reader suggested a Triangle playground with plenty of shade - Rockwood Park in Durham.

So I took the reader's advice and took my kids there this week. We had a great time.

There is a lot of shade at this small park and playground. You'll find a couple of play sets, swings and some small bouncy rides for preschoolers. I really liked the wide open areas with lots of trees and paved trail that loops around the park. Kids were having a great time riding their bikes and scooters around it.

Rockwood Park is at 2310 Whitley Dr. in Durham. Watch the video for a closer look at the park.
