Sky 5: Delta 2339 makes emergency landing at RDU

A Delta Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., to Atlanta stopped over at Raleigh-Durham International Airport to address a mechanical issue Tuesday afternoon.

Flight 2339, with 149 passengers on board, made a safe landing just before 3 p.m. and was back in the air within an hour, according to Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant.

Durrant said the crew on board the flight from Reagan National Airport noticed a vibration and, following standard procedure, switched to the next closest airport, which was RDU. There, mechanics found that a landing gear door was partially open. They were able to fix the problem and resume the flight.
