Flytrex, a company that delivers food via flying drones, just announced a new expansion that will allow them to deliver to more than 100,000 customers in neighborhoods around Holly Springs, Fayetteville and Raeford.

"Huge news for customers across North Carolina - we’ve been approved to deliver up to 2.3 miles -- quadrupling the number of customers that currently enjoy rapid drone delivery service," they company wrote on their Facebook page on Thursday.

The drones fly at 33mph over 200 feet in the sky, allowing them to reach customers' yards in less than 5 minutes.

Their website has maps indicating neighborhoods in their delivery 'zones.'

People can also request their meals to be delivered using public drop-off spots like Ting Park.

Twenty different restaurant in Holly Springs are available for drone delivery.

“As prices continue [to rise], and ground transportation becomes more expensive, the alternatives are great, especially in a COVID situation," said Aaron Levitt, principal engineer for Holly Springs.

Later this year, company plans to build its first drone production center in Liberty, North Carolina.
