Fayetteville student facing 10 felony sex charges

A Pine Forest High School student has been arrested and is facing multiple sex-related charges.

Mark Stevens Adair, 17, was using the internet to entice minors to send him sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves engaged in sex acts and sexual poses. Adair was also exchanged videos and photographs of adults engaging in sex acts.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, an investigation started when Twitter contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about sexually explicit posts. The center then contacted the State Bureau of Investigation, which tracked the IP address of the posts to Cumberland County.

Adair was arrested just before noon Wednesday after detectives found evidence on computers that were seized from his home on Riverwalk Place. He is charged with three counts of first degree exploitation of a minor, 10 counts of second degree exploitation of a minor, and 10 counts of third degree exploitation of a minor.

He is currently in jail and his bond is set at $1.3 million. Adair's next court appearance is scheduled for September 22.
