Man killed in early morning shooting in Fayetteville

A man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in Cumberland County.

At 12:28 a.m., Cumberland County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call for a person who had been shot at the 2200 block of Ladyslipper Drive.

Henry Lee Downing, Jr., 49, of Fayetteville, was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members were notified.
