Person killed in double shooting at Hope Mills home

Two people were shot Monday night in Hope Mills. One of them died.

Just before midnight, deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the 5500 block of Gilcrest Sands Drive.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in stable condition.

Deputies were focusing their investigation on one home in the neighborhood.
