Person killed in crash on NC 242 in Johnston County

One person was killed Monday morning in a crash in Johnston County.

Officials said the crash occurred around 4 a.m. on N.C. Highway 242 near Woodshed Lane. Only one vehicle was involved.

The identity of the victim and the cause of the crash were not provided.

The road was temporarily closed for an investigation but reopened by 6 a.m.
