Pedestrian killed on I-95 in Nash County

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 North, north of Rocky Mount, Saturday morning, state troopers said.

Troopers said the man was walking alongside the interstate and stepped into the path of tractor-trailer at mile marker 146 around 8:30 a.m. The man was struck by the side of truck.

Troopers said they found no fault by the truck driver, who stopped after the impact. No charges will be filed.

Traffic was slowed on both sides of the interstate in that area.
