Pedestrian killed in Johnston County

A man died after he was struck by a car in Johnston County on Tuesday.

Officials responded to Buckeye Trail and Drugstore Road just after 5:30 a.m. They said the man was in his 30s.

Charges were not filed against the driver, who waited at the scene.

Damages to the front of the car indicate the victim was already on the ground when he was hit.

The crash is under investigation.
