Pedestrian killed in Fayetteville

A 52-year-old man has died after, police say, he walked into traffic and was hit by a car on Yadkin Road near Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville.

Donald Ovalle was struck shortly before 9 p.m. Friday, police said. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he died.

The crash is still being investigated, but police do not anticipate charges against the driver.
