Pedestrian hit, killed in Wendell

A 64-year-old woman was killed Saturday when she was hit by a Jeep while walking on a road in Wendell, authorities said.

The Jeep was northbound on Edgemont Road shortly after 6 p.m. when it hit Celane Wilson Morgan, who was walking with her back to the traffic, authorities said.

The driver, 17-year-old Dylan Michael Reeves, told Highway Patrol troopers that oncoming headlights obstructed his vision, so he didn't see Morgan walking in the road.

No charges are expected to be filed, authorities said.
