An aggressive parent's threats on Tuesday caused a Durham elementary school to go on a brief lockdown.

According to a spokesperson with the Durham Police Department, officers around 11 a.m. responded to C.C. Spaulding Elementary School at 1531 S. Roxboro St.

A staff member told officers a parent became agitated during a virtual Zoom interview.

The parent called the school after the meeting and "made threats to assault different members of the staff and that she was going to blow the entire school up with everyone in it," according to Durham police.

C.C. Spaulding Elementary School was placed under secure status, which meant no one could enter or exit the building.

The spokesperson said police officers would speak with the parent.

The lockdown has been lifted. There was no additional information.
