Investigators from the Durham Police Department and the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two people and charged them with multiple counts of identity theft.

Floyd McSwain, 23, of Amber Ridge Lane in Raleigh, was charged with 72 counts of identity theft involving more than 200 victims and 18 counts of trafficking in stolen identities. Alexis Faison, 26, of 1028 Slateworth Drive in Durham, was charged with 13 counts of identity theft, which involved more than 35 victims.

Authorities said the pair found victims on a 3-year-old list of Durham city employees and used stolen personal information to obtain credit cards and to order items by phone and online.

Investigators searched 650 Ganyard Farm Way and 1028 Slateworth Drive in Durham last month and confiscated four firearms, including a sawed-off shotgun, numerous documents with stolen identity information and about $4,000 worth of furniture purchased from Rooms to Go.
