Art studio offers fun for all ages

Looking for something creative to do with the kiddos? Or something different to do for Girls Night Out? Paint Paper Paste Art Studio in north Raleigh has got you covered.

Nicole Lumley and Maureen Cesari are the mother-daughter dynamic duo behind this art studio off Leesville Road near I-540 in Raleigh. In the almost two years it’s been open, Paint Paper Paste has proved to be a huge hit with "the young at art," as they put it.

Like many great ideas, this one was born during COVID. Nicole and Maureen, both former teachers, had been wanting to open a craft studio for years, and the pandemic gave them the push they needed. Their time spent teaching in classrooms cemented their belief in the therapeutic nature of visual art, and the importance of self-expression for everyone, so they offer classes for preschoolers, children, teens and adults.

Paint Paper Paste has been a boon for parents, offering them a fun alternative for their kid’s track out camps, after school activities, summer camps and special events like birthday parties. As Nicole puts it, "There are few things more magical than the type of learning that happens when children are able to experiment and play in a nurturing, creative environment."

For adults, Paint Paper Paste offers BYOB classes that offer you an evening of creative expression while you sip and craft. Nicole and Maureen offer some different theme nights and art mediums than adults are typically offered in the area, so it’s a great creative alternative to a typical night out with friends.

You can hear all about some of their creative class offerings for all ages in the podcast, and can find the class calendar and sign up at paintpaperpaste.com.
