PlayNation Parties and Playgrounds opened in Morrisville near the airport back in November. And judging by the packed house the other week, it's become a pretty popular place.

Dozens of kids jumped on the inflatables and climbed around playsets you'd normally see outdoors at this indoor playground. And owner Ron Dicara told me that the crowd had actually thinned since it was getting close to lunch time.

Dicara got the idea for the business after seeing a similar one in the northeast. Dicara sells playsets made by PlayNation, a national brand, here. But he also offers open play for the public on the indoor playground on weekdays and weekends when there isn't a party. The space has become a popular spot for birthday parties and other special events.

Open play is offered 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. (Please note the updated open time. Dicara had told me it's 8 a.m. but it's actually 10 a.m.) Call ahead to find out if hours are available on the weekends between parties. The fee is $7 per child ages 3 to 13 and $5 per child ages 2 and under. Discounts are available for larger groups. Dicara tells me kids ages 2 to 8 seem to enjoy it all the most.

I was impressed with the variety of equipment offered. Your kids won't just bounce. There are tube slides, wave slides, tire swings, tree houses, punching bags, rock walls, play houses, tree houses and lots more (including a moon bounce and a big inflatable slide).

I'm guessing PlayNation, located on Dominion Drive off Aviation Parkway near Lake Crabtree County Park, has been packed this week with the hot weather. Check the video to learn more.
