Outage leaves thousands without power Saturday morning in Cary

Thousands of Cary residents are stuck without power Saturday morning.

Cary police said they received a report of a transformer that blew around 5 a.m. It happened near the Cary Parkway corridor.

The Duke Energy outage map shows more than 3,000 customers without power.

Cary police said traffic lights were out, which may have impacted residents in the area.

WRAL News is working to learn what caused the transformer to blow.

Crews are on scene working to restore power.
