One school bus hits another in Raleigh

One Wake County school bus hit another bus during a field trip to downtown Raleigh Monday morning.

The first bus bumped the rear of the other one at 2 E. South St. around 11:25 a.m., police said. One child was transported to a local hospital as a precaution, said Bill Poston, a spokesman for the school system.

The rest of the seventh-graders from Daniels Middle School in Raleigh continued on to see a play at the Progress Energy Center, Poston said.

Raleigh police were investigating the accident.
