One person shot, killed in Cumberland County

A person died due to a shooting Thursday night, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies responded around 8:40 p.m. Thursday along Miranda Drive to a report of a shooting.

Deputies found a person unresponsive outside. Authorities pronounced the person dead at the scene.

On Thursday night, authorities did not release the person's name to notify family members.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit is investigating.
