One person was killed in a crash on Avent Ferry Road in Wake County.
The State Highway Patrol (SHP) said the crash involved "serious" injuries. A deputy at the scene confirmed that one person died in the single-car crash.
Sky 5 flew over the scene, where two fire trucks and other law enforcement cars could be seen lining the road.
The N.C. Department of Transportation said New Hill Holleman Road is closed in both directions at Avent Ferry Road. Drivers should avoid the area and take an alternate route.
