One killed in Durham shooting; 3 hit, including a child, by car involved in shooting

One person has died after a shooting in Durham on Wednesday.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Liberty Street.

Durham police said a crash that happened in the same area was connected to the shooting.

Three people, including a child, were hit by the car. Police said all three people hit by the car were expected to recover.

Witnesses said they heard 9-10 gunshots before the crash.

Liberty Street from Elizabeth to Elm Streets were closed as police investigated the incident.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
