One injured when car slams into Fayetteville apartment building

One person was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center early Friday after a car slammed into an apartment building on Barcelona Drive, Fayetteville police said.

Officers responded to the Barrington Place apartments shortly after midnight. Investigators said the driver of a four-door sedan had a medical incident before the car crashed into the building.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital, but authorities have not released any other information about the person's condition.

No other injuries were reported. Residents of the apartment that was hit were not allowed back in their home after the wreck.
