One dead, one jailed after shooting in Bailey

The Nash County Sheriff's Office arrested Burnice Antwon Hinnant early Sunday for a shooting that took place overnight.

Hinnant's alleged victim, Jayquan Taybron, of Stone Heritage Road in Middlesex, arrived in the emergency room at Wilson Medical Center just before 3:30 a.m. Staff there called law enforcement officers who identified Hinnant as the suspect.

He is charged with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and carrying a concealed weapon.

Deputies said the shooting happened at 4414 W. Hornes Church Road in Bailey.
